| Ida Calhoun Burritt - She was
a journalist who was an advocate for women for many years; worked
for women’s rights with the county chapter of the National
Organization for Women; volunteered as librarian at the Destin
Library while a member of the board; helped in founding Shelter
House for battered women; & remained active at 90 years
of age. She worked at the Destin Log and the Playground Daily
News. Board member of the Destin Library and volunteer librarian
from 1975-80. She was the 1998 Pioneer Inductee. |
