Marnie Tate - Contemporary
Inductee 2001. Active with the FWB Chamber of Commerce since
1976, first female president in 1986, lifetime member for signing
up 100 members. She led the effort to establish the 911 service
in Okaloosa County. A top agent locally and nationally with
Northwestern Mutual Life.

| Jane Strickland - Carolyn
Spencer Humanitarian Award 2001. She was the first female executive
of the Mental Health Association, raising awareness and reducing
the stigma of treatment. She helped establish Shelter House
and has served with dedication at Sharing and Caring and Healthy
Start Coalition. |

Caroline Allen (1925- ) Pioneer
Inductee 2001. She was an educator in county schools for 30
years. She dedicated her life to the preservation of local history
as the president of the Carver-Hill Memorial and Historical
Society. She led the drive to establish the Carver-Hill Museum,
fund its new building and serve as director. |
| Gladys Milton (1924-1999) Established
a midwifery clinic in 1976 and as Northwest Florida’s
only midwife, made health care available to poor rural women.
Over a 40 year period she delivered 3000 children educating
women about the necessity of hygiene and care of newborns. She
was the first Okaloosa County woman elected to the state of
Florida Women’s Hall of Fame in Tallahassee. Pioneer,
inducted posthumously 2001. |
