Ida Calhoun Burritt - Pioneer Award
Ida Calhoun Burritt - She was a journalist who was an advocate for women for many years; worked for women’s rights with the county chapter of the National Organization for Women; volunteered as librarian at the Destin Library while a member of the board; helped in founding Shelter House for battered women; and remained active at 90 years of age. She worked at the Destin Log and the Playground Daily News. Board member of the Destin Library and volunteer librarian from 1975-80. She was the 1998 Pioneer Inductee.
Rae Ruckel Byrne Williams - Contemporary Award
Rae Ruckel Byrne Williams - Founder of the First Judicial District Guardian Ad Litem program and volunteer coordinator from 1981-87. President of the Niceville-Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce 1957-59; president of the local Business and Professional Women in 1972 and 1990 and their lobbyist from 1982-87. 1998 Contemporary Inductee.
