Five women inducted into the 2007 Hall of Fame Five women were inducted into the Okaloosa County Women’s Hall of Fame at a special reception on Monday, August 27th at the Niceville Community Center. The event was sponsored by the Okaloosa County Commission on the Status of Women (OCCSW) and held in conjunction with Women’s Equality Day, which is August 26th. The Women’s Hall of Fame recognizes and honors women who through their lives and efforts make significant contributions and quality-of-life improvements. The OCCSW received a total of thirteen nominations this year. The nominees were: Bertie Ann Curenton, Nan French, Inez Bailey Hall, Champee Kemp, Betty Kentosh, Marty Lackey, Shaun C. Lampron, Linda Parker, Shirley Piggott, Ida Faye Powell, Bettie Robertson, Joyce Shanahan, and Barbara Wall.
